- 9. Juni: In München beginnt mit dem Spiel der BRD-Fußballnationalmannschaft der Herren gegen Costa Rica die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006.
- 29. Juni: Der Deutsche Bundestag verabschiedet u. a. ein Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (AGG), die Einführung einer Reichensteuer und beschließt die Einführung eines europäischen Haftbefehls.
- 27. September: Eröffnung der Deutschen Islamkonferenz durch Bundesinnenminister Wolfgang Schäuble
- 23. August: Befreiung von Natascha Kampusch in Österreich.
- 25. Oktober: Der Landtag von Brandenburg verabschiedet, anläßlich stattgefundener Gedenkveranstaltungen bei Halbe, mit „breiter Mehrheit“ aller BRD-Blockparteien ein Gesetz, das national gesonnenen Deutschen praktisch jedwede Durchführung von Gedenkveranstaltungen an Soldatenfriedhöfen verbietet.
- 31. Oktober: Pfarrer Roland Weißelberg verbrennt sich bei lebendigem Leibe als Protest gegen die Islamisierung.
